Description
Multiband cobweb antenna works on 8 HF bands and up to 800/1000w.
Bands are 7,10,14,18,21,24,28,50 MHz
This antenna has sides of the square 5,2 x 5,2 m, and is very useful where space is limited.
It’s design is strong and robust, and is resistant to strong winds.
The antenna is contructed from glass fibre rods, aluminum, stainless steel and galvanized steel and has a sealed connector box resistant to rain and UV rays to keep the balun and connections from the elements.
The antenna works well on DX and as a QRP station.
It is pre-tuned to different bands at a height of 5 metres above the ground. Raising the antenna above 5m will generally see SWR decrease.
This antenna is omni-directionally so you do not need a rotator.
It is made up of folded half-wave dipoles for 40,30,20,17,15,12,10,6 meters bands.
Polarisation is horizontal and is naturally resistant to some electrical interference and static.
Large system efficiency to 95%.

I have the 20-6M version up at about 10M above ground level and over my roof. It has performed fairly well for me especially on 20-17-15. With the help of my roofers and a 50-feet high “man lift” I took it down earlier this week because the 15M element green cord had broken after 2.5 years in the air/sun. All of the green cords were on the edge of failure and the small bits of plastic tubing forming and holding the wire loop at the end of each wire had become brittle and several had already failed. I replaced these with UV-rated black cable ties and the green cord with 1/8-inch polyester clothesline. I hope I get more than 2.5 years out of these repairs/modifications as I’d like to not have to pay roofers for this work (added to other necessary chimney and roof work). Consider using more UV resistant materials as available.
