I read about AWK Antennas, in an article from a gentleman in the Netherlands. He was talking about the cobweb antenna and the increased performance when adding a 1:1 balun. I decided to buy a cobweb antenna and was very happy with it, I bought a second one for my grandson who is studying for his technician license. After some time I decided to look into the hexbeam from AWK Antennas and I again decided to buy one, this is also a great antenna allowing me to get contacts in Europe and south America easier with its capabilities in directing it more precise to the contacts. I am also very happy with the construction of the antennas with the use of stainless steel center post and hardware along with the solid fiberglass spreaders. Here in Southern Colorado where I reside, we can have high winds with gusts at 80 mph or greater. The antennas aren’t effected by the winds much, I believe this is due to the low surface area and small diameter of the solid fiberglass spreaders. AWK Antennas is also competitively priced with the antennas even though they are manufactured in Poland, the cost of them including the shipping is very reasonable. I look forward to deciding on the next antenna from AWK Antennas.
